Hi! I’m Ariella, an experienced and playful enthusiast of music, gaming, geekery, and pop-culture. I’m oh so very pretty, and ya can’t shame me in front of new people.
Geekery
I love retro computing, and different decades of systems have my affection for different reasons. The VIC 20 was my first personal computer, Amiga was my second love, and later the late 90s to early 2000s Macs caught my heart. Linux then came into the picture and I’ve come to love free (as in beer, and freedom) software. I’ve collected several old systems and software and enjoy a lot of emulation so you can expect me to gush about all of them.
I enjoy a lot of new tech too, but not all of it. Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence are so infested with late stage capitalism (forced obsolescence, own nothing, enshittification etc.) that I just don’t enjoy them right now. It might improve in the future and I’m playing with various devices and software, but in general I’m not placing any trust or dependencies. I’m also not a fan of how cloud services companies hold your encryption keys most of the time.
My career is in I.T., which started with several decades of back-end software development that later got padded with business analysis, agile/scrum coaching, developer relations and interoperability disciplines, so I have a lot to say about how software is made, connects and data management and transiting.
Music
I’ve played the piano as an amateur for most of my life. It’s fun, another language to speak. My preferred style of play is improvisation and live jamming. Ableton Live is my favourite DAW.

Gaming
Overwatch (Mercy main) and Destiny (Hunter main) are my favourite games, but I also like to play Cyberpunk2077 and Cloud Punk, along with space sim games like Elite Dangerous and Star Citizen. Rocket is growing on me in Marvel Rivals.
I also collect games and devices so expect to see items from the collection featured.
Pop-culture
No power in the verse can stop me! Well, except death, maybe, while being a big damn hero. I don’t see the percentage in dying though. It’s not a job that pays and certainly doesn’t keep me flying.
I love Firefly, sci-fi, and can have conversations with continuous quotes from various series, but I also really enjoy witty dramas, sticoms, fantasy, some superhero series and stand-up comedy.
